The Sheboygan County Special Event Team (SET) was created in 2018 and is composed of 27 total members from Multiple Agencies within Sheboygan County. All members participate in yearly physical agility testing along with bi-monthly training.

SET is trained in and utilizes Nationally recognized Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training, tactics, and movements. This consists of having National standards under the Mobile Field Force (MFF) training standard.

This promotes a unified response from agencies all over the USA. Goals are to protect individuals rights under the 1st, 4th, 8th, and 14th , amendments. Having the proper approach allows each person to exercise their right to protest and free speech within the confines of the law.

SET is deployed primarily when there is civil unrest occurring. This can be anything from individuals attempting to block an entrance into a business, up to attempting to cause property damage and/or incite violence. SET is deployed when additional presence or additional resources are needed beyond normal patrol Officers. SET utilizes additional training and tactics to maintain the peace, promote public safety, officer safety, and limit property damage if possible. SET uses team tactics to accomplish a specific and focused goal that is determined by the command staff of the requesting agency.

Each member is issued a gas mask, Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK), Ballistic helmet w/face shield, hard shell full body armor, rifle plates, laser eye protection, camelbak water system, personal fire
extinguisher, and other misc. items to promote their safety. We have several medics within the unit that assist with basic first aid and trauma care.

• The Sheboygan County SET unit has had multiple deployments across the state and is
considered one of the top SET/MFF units in the State.
• SET has been featured in front-page articles internationally.
