This program is administered by the Sheboygan County Planning & Conservation Department. Program participation is voluntary. There are many options under this program, depending on your property or agricultural operation. Financial assistance can typically cover up to 70% of associated costs, however this is dependent on type of project & available funding. Contract lengths vary by program.

Vegetated Buffer Program

The goal of the Vegetative Buffer Program is to design and implement projects that combat soil loss and keep pollutants from entering waterways. There are many eligible practices under this program including vegetative buffers adjacent to navigable waterways, grassed waterways, windbreaks, living snow fences, contour grass strips, and more. More information on the Vegetative Buffer Program

Native Pollinator Planting Program

The goals of the Native Pollinator Planting Program are to enhance local soil health and water quality while creating habitat for pollinators and wildlife. These plantings are prioritized in areas which will most benefit from the presence of pollinators and native vegetation, such as areas around crop fields, gardens, etc. More information on the Native Pollinator Planting Program
