Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that can be caused by toxins, certain drugs, heavy alcohol use, and bacterial and viral infections. The most common infections in the US are Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C. Hepatitis is the leading cause of liver cancer and the most common reason for liver transplants.



Hepatitis Counseling:

Sheboygan County Public Health provides education and prevention counseling for those found to have Hepatitis in our community.




Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Program:

Women found while pregnant or at delivery to be infected with Hepatitis B are provided with education and follow-up for their infants, family and contacts.
